WHAT WE DO
RENEW is a non-profit association that brings together renewable energy companies, environmental advocates, and communities to expand sustainable energy across New England. We champion the use of the region’s abundant renewable resources—including offshore and land-based wind, solar, small hydropower, and energy storage—and emphasize the importance of transmission investments to deliver this clean power.

Public Policy Priorities
- Protect and expand state Renewable Portfolio Standards (RPS).
- Advance state policies to promote development of large-scale renewable energy resources through long-term commitments and regional coordination of renewable energy procurement.
- Promote siting standards based on good science.
- Support siting rules that strike a balance between the need for renewable energy projects and environmental impacts.
- Advocate for competitively selected transmission projects to facilitate deliverability of environmentally responsible renewable energy resources to load centers.
- Shorten the time and lower costs for renewable energy developers to receive approval from ISO New England to connect projects to the grid.
- Ensure renewable resources are not disadvantaged under proposed changes to ISO New England market rules.

Francis Pullaro is the President of RENEW Northeast, an association of the clean energy industry and environmental public interest groups whose mission is to promote clean energy technologies for New England that will improve environmental quality, increase energy security, and grow the regional economy.
Previously, Mr. Pullaro advocated for competitive retail energy markets. His roles include having served as vice president of regulatory affairs for Just Energy and prior to that as manager of regulatory affairs for Strategic Energy. Before turning to the energy field, Mr. Pullaro served as the legal counsel to the Republican Leader of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, Francis Marini. Mr. Pullaro’s legislative and policy experience also includes several years of service as a legislative assistant to several Republican members of the Connecticut House of Representatives.
Mr. Pullaro received his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law and his B.A. from Colby College. He is a member of the Energy Bar Association and has been admitted to practice law in Massachusetts and Connecticut. An aviation enthusiast, Mr. Pullaro is a certified airplane private pilot and holds an instrument rating. He is a member and a past-president of the Oxford Flying Club. In his home community of Madison, Connecticut, Mr. Pullaro has served on the town’s Energy and Efficiency Committee and as a member of the Scranton Library Board of Trustees.
Nathan Raike

Previously, Mr. Raike was an Associate State Policy Analyst at ISO New England, where he tracked and analyzed state legislation and regulatory proceedings affecting the region’s energy markets and electrification efforts. In this role, he provided insights on policy trends, engaged with stakeholders, and contributed to reports assessing the potential impacts of policy changes on the regional grid. Before that, he worked as a Consultant at FiscalNote, advising clients on legislative and regulatory developments. He gained his footing in public policy while working two terms in the Vermont State House, where he supported a legislative committee and the then-Vice Chair of the House Committee focused on energy issues through policy research and hearing coordination.
Outside of work, Mr. Raike enjoys diving into history, whether through books or exploring historic sites. He spends much of his free time hiking and fishing, often in northern New England, but also enjoys exploring Boston’s neighborhoods and waterfront.
